What We Believe

We hold fast to all scripture as the inspired Word of God. We believe in the triune God; we believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. We believe He lived on this planet for 33 years as a man, (God in the flesh). We believed He died a gruesome death by crucifixion, as it was the will of his Father, God. In three days He rose again and then ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. As a comforter, He sent the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost who remains with each of the elect until the day of His second coming. On that day, we will meet Him face to face and be with Him forever in Heaven.

In addition to these basic beliefs we acknowledge Jesus Christ as both a personal Lord and Redeemer. We are convinced by scripture and compelled by His grace that God is completely Sovereign. We are saved by grace alone, in Christ alone, and not by any work, effort, or thought of our own. We are His workmanship, in Christ Jesus; the bride of Christ, whom He will prepare for Himself and present to Himself on the day of His coming.

Because we know of His awesome power and His unfailing love toward us we fear God and keep His commandments. We strive toward that which we have already attained, as Paul said. Aware of our sins and our reliance on Him for His forgiveness we strive to become His disciples through obedience to His Word.

We firmly believe that the word of our testimony will defeat ignorance; therefore we give place not only to the teaching and preaching of God’s Word but the practical application and principal study of the underlying truth within scripture. We give God all the glory, the attention is His and we do not share in the limelight for even an instance. He chooses His people, builds them, sends them, and sustains them all on His own. He is God, we are His children.
